June 3 & 10 – Entomology Class – Caney Fork

Entomology Class

Entomology is one of the most important facets of the fly fishing sport. Understanding what the fish are eating improves your catching success.

Every year Tennessee Traditional Flies and the Middle Tennessee Fly Fishers hold a Entomology Class on the Caney Fork River.

On June 3 Tennessee Traditional Flies will hold a classroom session to study Trout Entomology.

On June 10 MTFF and TTF will hold a entomology stream study at the Caney Fork River.


  1. Collect samples
  2. Take a census of the various insects
  3. Record results

The class is held at the Buffalo Valley steps area June 10 2017 from 9am to 12pm and fly fishing follows the class.
