We have scheduled the 2018 MTFF Entomology Class for June 2 Session I and June 23 Session II. Session I is a classroom setting and Session II is the insect collection on the Caney Fork River. Learning more about the sport of Fly Fishing enhances your enjoyment of the sport. Session I is held at Tennessee Traditional Flies from 8:00am to 11:00am. Then a short organizational meeting will be held from 11:00am to 12:00pm to create sampling groups for Buffalo Valley, Happy Hallow, Betty’s Island, give collection instructions and distribute the required equipment. Volunteers not attending the June 2 11:00am to 12:00pm organization meeting will be assigned a collection location and notified by email. Volunteers will go directly to their sample location on Jane 23 and meet up with their sampling group to collect samples from 8:00 to 9:30 am. Then travel to the Buffalo Valley steps where samples will be sorted, counted and viewed with the digital microscope from 10:00am to 11:00. Then everyone goes fishing. We don’t want anyone to miss out. Some of you have signed up but we still have room for volunteers. If you haven’t volunteered yet and want to volunteer please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let him know if you want to attend June 2 or June 23 or both.
