Happy Hollow

Date: 7/11/2015

We conducted the first stream survey of the year this morning. The survey was conducted:

  1. At Happy Hollow
  2. 8:00 am
  3. Tom Keeton, Mickey Holton, Marcus Pipkin and John Peipon were the participants
  4. Water was running at low 475 cfm
  5. Water had been low since 12:00 am 7/11/15
  6. Water clarity was good
  7. No temperature taken

Once we had collected our samples we setup the table and proceeded with the count of specimens collected. About 10 minutes into the count we encountered a major rainstorm that soaked all of our equipment, paperwork and ourselves. It rained very hard for about 15-15 minutes and then cleared.

We concluded our count with the following results of two collection teams:

  1. 16 – Scuds mostly black
  2. 18 – Green Midges
  3. 2 – Red Worms
  4. 2- Snails
  5. 2 – Scrimp
  6. 4 – Red Midges
  7. 1 – Blk Fly
